About BIW

The Club was founded on August 4, 2007 by ten members who attended the first annual University of Northern Iowa Mens Rugby Alumni weekend. While having a BBQ and socializing with current players in the backyard of the rugby house, 10 former players who still have a love for the sport and the team that showed us many great times both off and on the field, decided it was time to give back. In the two years since, we have applied for and been granted 501 (c) 7 non-profit status with the IRS, established a board of directors, by-laws, and have grown the yearly alumni game and meeting exponentially. We envision that every single alumni of UNI Mens Rugby (past and future) will be a dues paying member of Born In The Woods Alumni Club.
